I am a pharmaceutical professional with more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery and development. I hold a PhD in Pharmacy and have completed postdoctoral research in Immunology. Over the course of my career, I have worked with several national and multinational pharmaceutical organizations across diverse therapeutic areas. Currently, I serve as Director in the Global Preclinical and Product Safety department at Abbott Healthcare Pvt Ltd. In this role, I manage a team of scientists, collaborate closely with cross functional stakeholders, and oversee multiple preclinical development portfolios. My responsibilities include ideation and conceptualization of drug repurposing programs, design and execution of preclinical pharmacology and toxicology studies to support new product development, and providing quality and regulatory support for both developing and marketed products. I actively address pharmacology and toxicology related regulatory queries, participate in scientific meetings and health authority discussions, and conduct due diligence for in licensing opportunities. I have been an active member of the Indian Pharmacology Society and have contributed to the society in various capacities, including serving as a speaker, chairing scientific sessions, and coordinating society activities. I have played a key role in advancing three drug candidates—OCID 2987, GRC 27864, and GRC 38915 from the bench to different clinical phases. My academic and scientific contributions include authorship of a book chapter, more than 20 publications in high impact peer reviewed journals, and over 20 abstracts presented at national and international scientific conferences. I have also been actively involved in developing monographs for the Quality Standards of Indian Medicinal Plants in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India. In addition, I have served as a panel member for the implementation of ICH M10 regulatory guidelines and have been a recipient of Senior Research Fellowships from both ICMR and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. I am frequently invited as a speaker at national and international conferences, where I share insights and expertise in drug discovery and development. I also serve as a reviewer for the peer reviewed journal Toxicology Research and Application and Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology.
