1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) (CAS 4004-05-1) is a synthetic analog of naturally occurring phosphatidylethanolamine containing 18:1 fatty acids at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, used as an emulsifier to facilitate DNA-liposome complex transport across membranes and, combined with cationic phospholipids, in DNA transfection studies as a non-viral gene delivery method; it is also one of the excipients used in COVID-19 vaccines. It is manufactured directly by Hunan HuaTeng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to a pharmaceutical-grade, in-house specification, and sold across North America, Central/South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
