2-Ethylhexyl methacrylate

2-Ethylhexyl methacrylate (2-EHMA, MW 198) is a colorless transparent liquid with a distinctive odor, used mainly in coating compounds, adhesives, and fiber-treatment agents. Per the supplier's technical specification it has a boiling point of 229°C, specific gravity of 0.878-0.888, purity of at least 99.0%, and is stabilized with an MEHQ polymerization inhibitor; it polymerizes under sunlight and heat and is weakly irritating to skin and mucosa.
