Technical Officer

Dr. Adi Al-Nuseirat has been a Technical Officer at the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean since January 2016. He oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WHO collaborative programs on essential medicines and pharmaceutical policies across member countries in the region. Dr. Al-Nuseirat holds a PhD in Industrial Pharmacy and a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Technology. With extensive expertise in pharmaceutical regulations, medicine policy, rational use of essential medicines, and supply chain management, he has played a key role in strengthening pharmaceutical systems. In 2012, he joined the WHO Country Office for Jordan as a Medicine Adviser, leading the WHO’s Essential Medicines and Pharmaceutical Policies initiatives and coordinating the Medicine Transparency Alliance (MeTA) project. Prior to WHO, he served as Head of the Rational Drug Use Department at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA).
