Professional Summary
Ever since my days at middle school I have thought of being a scientist, but it was not until my last year of high school when I decided to devote my scientific career to Food Science. I started with a degree in Food Science in Spain, which I combined with various courses related to the field and other related paths, such Nutrition. After that, I moved to the United States to get my MS in Food Science with a mention in Microbiology. For two years, I was both getting my degree and working at my advisor's lab, an experience which really enhanced my passion for research and teaching. At this moment, I am working on my PhD back in Spain, this time focused on Food Toxicology.
During these study years, I have collaborated in several publications with my advisors, and even got to publish a paper as first author thanks to the inestimable effort of my colleagues at University of Hawai'i. I am also taking part of the IAFP 2021 meeting, and I hope this is the beginning of a prolific publishing career.
