I graduated from the faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta In Edmonton, Albert, Canada. Following graduation, I was fortunate to have had several opportunities to conduct advanced research and develop extensive research experience both as a post-doctorate researcher and as an industrial research scientist in such areas as Pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and Molecular Biology. I also have nine years of teaching experience in two universities in Canada and the Caribbean. In 2014, I was appointed as an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at Saba University, School of Medicine (SUSOM), teaching clinical pharmacology courses and advising medical students that conducted research. I served on Educational committees, review sessions, and program committees for various symposiums. Between 2004 and 2010 I was a lecturer, teaching assistant, and laboratory-teaching assistant at the University of Alberta Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on pharmacokinetics, pharmacy compounding as well as Radiopharmacy. These teaching experiences allowed me to develop a critical perspective of teaching as a process that requires student-centred approaches that accommodate diverse and inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
At the moment, I am an independent pharmaceutical researcher who founded a start-up research company called InVitvo pharmaceuticals in Edmonton, AB, Canada. My background is in pharmaceutical Sciences and more specifically, I work on drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. Our company is working on the identification of new metabolites and invitro biopharmaceutical characterization of new compounds. I Have extensive experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics which were obtained in both the pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions.
