Dr. Farhan Ahmad Khan, MBBS, MD (Pharmacology) is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at JN Medical College Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University, India. With over 16 years of extensive research experience, he has made significant contributions to the field of Clinical Pharmacology. He has mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, fostering a new generation of scholars in his field. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Farhan serves as a Consultant for the Drug & Poison Information Centre (DPIC) at his affiliated hospital. Dr. Farhan played a pivotal role in establishing the Drug and Poison Information Centre in collaboration with the Department of Forensic Medicine. The centre serves as a crucial resource for addressing drug-related queries both within the hospital and from external sources. His research interests include Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacogenetics, Rational Use of Medicine, and Antimicrobial Resistance. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Farhan was awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, UK, in May 2024. He was also elected Trustee–Senior Academic Leadership at the British Pharmacological Society for the 2025-2027 term. Additionally, he was elected Education Councillor for the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Education Committee for the 2023-2026 term. He previously served on the Education Committee of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology in 2020 and was appointed Head of the Accreditation Board for the National Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in India (2022-2024). Dr. Farhan is the Chief Editor of the International Archives of BioMedical and Clinical Research, published by Medicozum, UK, and holds editorial positions in several esteemed international, peer-reviewed medical research journals. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, the British Pharmacological Society, the International Society of Pharmacovigilance, the UK Pharmacogenetics Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM), The International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP), American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network (PGRN), British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC), the Indian Society for Clinical Research, the Asian Council of Science Editors, and the Science Alert Family. Dr. Farhan has been instrumental in coordinating the Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India from 2016-2020. He has also played a crucial role in developing the hospital drug formulary to meet the institution’s needs. With substantial administrative experience, Dr Farhan has led his department as head for six years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing clinical pharmacology.
