Professional Summary
My research interests focus on identifying new vulnerabilities in challenging biomedical problems.
During my Ph.D. project, I used a 3 KRAS isogenic colorectal cancer cell lines model to discover the alternative downstream effects caused by differential KRAS mutational status.
In my first post-doc experience I was excited to be part of a project aiming to develop a SARS-CoV-2 replicon to have a safe model to look for antivirals.
Then, in my next position in the cardiovascular area, I studied the molecular mechanisms explaining the protective role of some microRNA in different biological backgrounds as aging.
I have always been interested in projects with strong translational components, so my next experience was in the group of targeted therapies in cancer. We developed the first steps `from the bench to the clinic´ of a small molecule with antitumoral properties in the EMT context.
In my current position, we have focused our research on progeria syndrome. As a rare and fatal disease, we decided to use PROTAC as an innovative tool to improve patients' characteristic phenotype.
