Professional Summary

Tenured Professor and internationally established translational pharmacologist with over 16 years of post-PhD experience spanning drug discovery, inflammatory and infectious disease biology, clinical translation, and senior academic leadership. My research integrates biochemistry-driven pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical nanotechnology, and validated preclinical disease models to advance novel therapeutic candidates toward real-world health impact. I have authored 100+ peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals, secured competitive national research funding, and supervised 50+ Master’s and PhD trainees. My work has generated impact beyond academia through clinical trials, public-health engagement, international partnerships, and research capacity building, including leadership of a national COVID-19 clinical trial (PROTECT). In parallel with research excellence, I bring extensive institutional leadership experience, having served as Head of Department and Project Director for large-scale university infrastructure development. My career reflects a sustained commitment to research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, equity- informed mentorship, and knowledge translation in support of healthier people and resilient communities across the lifespan.
