British public research university in central Birmingham, England, whose origins go back to the Birmingham Municipal Technical School of 1895 and which received its royal charter in 1966. Teaches across health and life sciences, engineering and physical sciences, business and social sciences, and its Aston Pharmacy School runs the Master of Pharmacy degree together with research in drug delivery, formulation, pharmaceutical analysis, microbiology and pharmacy practice.
