Finnish public research university in Helsinki, founded in 1640 at Turku as the Royal Academy of Turku and moved to Helsinki in 1828, the country's oldest and largest university. Its Faculty of Pharmacy teaches the bachelor's and master's degrees in pharmacy and runs divisions of pharmaceutical biosciences, pharmaceutical chemistry and technology and pharmacology and pharmacotherapy, with research in drug delivery, nanomedicine, drug design and social and clinical pharmacy, working with the Helsinki University Hospital and the Finnish pharmaceutical industry.
