American non-profit global health organisation founded in 1971 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, working with governments, civil society and the private sector in low and middle income countries to build stronger health systems. Its work covers pharmaceutical management and medicine supply chains, medicines regulation and quality assurance, health financing and governance, and programmes against HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and maternal and child illness, delivered largely through donor funded projects across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
