St Stephens AIDS Trust

British HIV research and education charity based at the St Stephen's Centre of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, which grew out of a clinical research organisation of the late nineteen eighties and was registered as a charity in February 1991 by four founder trustees under the founding chairman Professor Brian Gazzard. Sponsored and ran independent academic clinical trials in HIV and AIDS for more than thirty years through its subsidiary St Stephen's Clinical Research, taking part in the development of essentially every new HIV medicine and running studies in pharmacology and ageing, renal safety and pre-exposure prophylaxis including the PrEP Impact trial, before winding down in 2018.
