Universidade de Évora

Portuguese public university in Évora in the Alentejo, founded in 1559 as a Jesuit university, closed in the eighteenth century and refounded in 1973, the second oldest in the country. Teaches nursing, biochemistry, biology, chemistry and biotechnology alongside agricultural sciences, engineering, arts and social sciences, works with the Évora hospital for the clinical training of its health students, and carries out research in chemistry, mediterranean agriculture and food, biological sciences and health with its own institutes and laboratories.
