I lead the Multiscale Modelling of Complex Systems group at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT-PAN), Poland. I received a Master’s degree in Computational Physics from the State University of Campinas, Brazil (2008), and a PhD in Physics from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research and Freie Universität Berlin (2011), supervised by Prof. Kurt Kremer and Prof. Luigi Delle Site. I then held postdoctoral positions at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with Prof. Giovanni Ciccotti and later at IPPT-PAN. In 2018, I became an Assistant Professor at IPPT-PAN. I obtained my habilitation in Biomedical Engineering in 2024 and was awarded the Edward Wróble Prize in 2025 in recognition of the development of the GōMartini 3 approach for studying proteins in action, with significant applications in biomedical engineering research. My research focuses on developing computational strategies to capture large biomolecular conformational changes, with applications in protein stability, neurodegenerative and cancer diseases, biopolymer degradation, and virus–cell interactions. I am the lead developer of the GōMartini approach and an active contributor to the Martini Force Field Initiative.
