Fabian Grimm is a certified toxicologist (EUROTOX/ European Registered Toxicologist - ERT) and head of toxicology & ecotoxicology at specialty chemicals company Clariant, located in Sulzbach (Germany). At Clariant, Fabian coordinates global regulatory and strategic toxicology/ environmental activities, and facilitates sustainable chemistry and digital innovation by integrating non-animal testing methods (NAMs) including computational toxicology expertise in early stage product development. Before joining Clariant, Fabian was a senior toxicologist at ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences Inc. (EMBSI) in Annandale, NJ (USA) where he was responsible for leading and supporting scientific programs related to human health risk assessment, global product support, and strategic research for ExxonMobil business partners. Fabian is a former NIH/ NIEHS Superfund Research Program trainee and received his doctorate in Toxicology from the University of Iowa in 2014. Between 2012 and 2014 he has been the University of Iowa Graduate Student Representative for the NIH/NIEHS Superfund Research Program SPAN Leadership Committee. He completed his postdoctoral training, partially supported by the Society of Toxicology Colgate-Palmolive and Syngenta fellowships, at Texas A&M University between 2014-2017. He is an author of 25+ peer-reviewed publications, an active reviewer for several toxicology journals, and previously served as a grant reviewer for the Alternatives Research & Development Foundation. He is an active member of the Society of Toxicology and has served as a volunteer for both Risk Assessment (RASS) and In Vitro and Alternative Methods (IVAM) Specialty Sections.
