Dr. Hausheer is an internationally recognized physician-scientist in global commercial oncology Phase I-III development and translational medicine (preclinical-to PIND/IND Research and Development). He is one of the leading experts in oncology commercial development strategy and clinical development and has extensive experience as an expert advisor to multinational Pharma/Biotech companies and leading investment firms for over 30 years. He previously served as WuXi AppTec's Global Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, and he lives in Shanghai, China and Austin, Texas. Dr. Hausheer's 30+ year industry and academic career has focused on the international commercial pre-clinical and Phase I-III development of novel experimental therapeutics and clinincal pharmacology. He is a former NCI-Designated Clinical Investigator, NCI-Institutional Review Board voting member, and NCI-Experimental Therapeutics Study Section member, and an ad hoc external expert medical advisor for the US FDA for NDAs. Some of his major awards include the prestigious American Cancer Society Fellowship Awards, the National Scientific Research Award, and the Smithsonian-ComputerWorld Award for Breakthough Science in Medicine. He has over 200 scientific and medical publications and is an inventor/co-inventor on more than 400 issued United States and international patents. Dr. Hausheer is US Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology; he received his MD degree (with Honors) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and completed his Fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital & the Johns Oncology Center where his training was focused on development of investigational agents and clinical pharmacology in the Experimental Therapeutics and Pharmacology divisions. His undergraduate degree is in Biology from Graceland University and graduate degree is in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Illinois, Champagne-Urbana.
