I am an organic chemist specializing in synthetic organic and heterocyclic chemistry. My research focuses on the design and multistep synthesis of bioactive heterocycles for drug discovery. I am particularly interested in natural product-inspired compounds for developing novel antimalarial, anticancer, and other bioactive agents. My MSc research involved synthesizing sulphonamide-bearing heterocycles (quinoline, pyrimidine, pyridine, and thiazole) and evaluating their in vivo and in silico antimalarial activities. A sulphonamide-bearing thiazole derivative showed promising inhibitory potential against Plasmodium falciparum plasmepsin 2 (PfPM2). My interests include SAR studies, lead optimization, and integrating organic chemistry with molecular pharmacology to advance new drug discovery.
