Dr. Nader Nciri is an interdisciplinary scientist whose work bridges applied chemical engineering, materials science, and biotechnology, with a focus on sustainability-driven innovation. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Chemical Engineering from the Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH) (2015) under the Korean Government Scholarship (KGSP), where his doctoral research—“Physicochemical Investigation of Various Asphalt Materials”—advanced performance-based understanding of asphalt binders through physicochemical and rheological structure–property relationships. Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Nciri received advanced training in Tunisia at the National Institute of Agronomy of Tunisia (INAT), completing an Engineer’s degree (2007) and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology (2010), with specialization in toxicology and human health risk assessment. His early research at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis (University of Tunis El Manar) investigated food and nutritional toxicology, including in vivo/in vitro assessments of bioactive and potentially harmful compounds in Phaseolus vulgaris. Since 2015, he has held research and academic appointments in Korea, including postdoctoral research positions at KOREATECH and Seoul National University (SNU), and later a Research Professor role at KOREATECH (2021–2023). His research portfolio spans eco-friendly road and pavement materials, waste-to-resource asphalt modifiers, polymers and composites, nano/biomaterials, and green analytical methods, supported by national and international collaborations. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and contributed to large-scale R&D programs in sustainable infrastructure and materials engineering. Dr. Nciri is also active in academic service, including editorial and peer-review contributions, and is committed to mentorship and inclusive, multicultural research environments. He is proficient in Arabic, French, English, and Korean, and continues to develop science-to-impact pathways at the intersection of sustainability, materials performance, and human well-being.
