Dr. Kautuk Kumar Sardar is Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. An MVSc Gold Medallist from OUAT and PhD from ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, UP with a brilliant academic record, Dr. Sardar is an eminent pharmacologist with over 33 years of vast experience in teaching, research and extension. In addition, Dr. Sardar serves as the Director at the Directorate of Polytechnic, OUAT. Dr. Sardar, credited with over 110 research papers in high impact factor – peer reviewed Journals of National and International repute with publication of five manuals; six compendia; over 100 abstracts, has attended more than 36 National Seminars/Conferences; delivered several lecture-cum-practical demonstrations including 14 invited lectures at different trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences. Dr. Sardar is the Editorial Board Member of Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Journal of Research, Acta Scientific Veterinary Sciences Journal, International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences & International Journal of Medicine and Veterinary Sciences, Journal of Research, etc. Acted as Course Co-ordinator of ICAR-Winter School on Climate Change Impacts; worked as Organizing Secretary, Co-organizing Secretary and Convenor of 10 National Symposia/Seminars/ Conferences/ Workshops; delivered many TV and radio talks, Dr. Sardar is editor of book namely, Impact of Climate Change on Livestock Health and Production (ISBN: 978-93-90175-02-4); Hidden Treasure MCQ Veterinary Sciences (ISBN: 978-93-90757-07-7 and has registered ORCID ID 0000 0003 0088 3934. Conferred with Fellow of Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology; Fellow, National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, India; Fellow, Society for Ecological Sustainability; Fellow, National Environmental Science Academy; Fellow, Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture & Technology; Fellow, Indian Society of Agriculture Science & Technology Research; Fellow, Association of Plant Science Researchers; Fellow, Society for Applied Biotechnology; National Alarsin Award (Indian Veterinary Association - 2000); Member, National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, India (2005); Member, National Academy of Sciences, India (2009); Member, National Academy of Biological Sciences, India (2012); Member, Odisha Bigyan Academy (2013); Recipient of Indian Society of Veterinary Medicine Appreciation Award (2012) as well as IAAVR - Dr. R. M. Sojatia Memorial Award (2016). Dr. Sardar has the credit of receiving Dr. Vergese Kurien Award of Excellence and Dr. C.M. Singh National Award of Excellence on the occasion of Azadika Amrit Mahotsav. Dr. Sardar is the esteemed Member of Board of Studies, Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM), Odisha and Birsa Agricultural University, Jharkhand, and has remained as Member, Apex Committee of OUAT. He is also the recipient of Life-Time Achievement Award from Institute of Researchers (Ministry of MSMS, Govt. of India), Kerala and Founder Member of the Society for Animal Welfare, Production & Health, Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Sardar chaired and co-chaired many scientific and technical sessions in seminars and conferences and has been working as Co-Principal Investigator of many research projects funded by Indian Council of Agriculture & Research, Department of Science & Technology, Indian Herbs, National Innovation Foundation, etc. Besides crowning the job of reviewer in high-impact factor research journals, he has remained External Examiner, Thesis Evaluator of UG, PG and PhD of 14 Veterinary & Animal Sciences Universities including 16 SAUs and ICAR- IVRI Deemed University. Dr. Sardar is Subject Matter Expert and Member of different Public Service Commissions namely, in the States of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha and is Life-Member of more than 47 Scientific Societies/ Associations/Academies. With the assignment of Chairman and Guide in many Academic and Research Thesis Committee of OUAT by now, more than 27 Scholars have successfully completed their Masters’ and PhD Degree in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology as well as in other disciplines of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
