Ceftiofur Sodium for Injection is a white to yellow powder antimicrobial agent used to treat infections in poultry and livestock caused by sensitive bacteria. In chickens it helps prevent early mortality from Escherichia coli; in pigs it treats bacterial respiratory disease from Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella cholerasuis, and Streptococcus suis, as well as intestinal infections and early piglet deaths from bacteria; in cattle it addresses foot rot, respiratory disease from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, or Haemophilus somnus, and postpartum uteritis or mastitis in lactating cows.
