EMRASIL 200 is a medium-surface-area, synthetic, hydrophilic, amorphous fumed silica (also called colloidal silicon dioxide), produced via flame hydrolysis. It is a high-purity white colloidal powder that is tasteless, colorless, and odorless, with a hydrophilic surface and low bulk density. Used across all pharmaceutical dosage forms, it acts as a free-flow and anti-caking agent to improve powder properties, improves tablet hardness and friability, thickens and thixotropizes liquids as a viscosity-increasing agent, and functions as an anti-settling, thickening, and anti-sagging agent, all while maintaining high purity, low moisture content, and no effect on taste or the natural color of powder formulations.
