Nicotinamide riboside chloride (NR-Cl) is a white, odorless powder and the salt form of nicotinamide riboside (NR), a vitamin B3 derivative that serves as a precursor to NAD+. Because NR is unstable at room temperature, it is produced as a salt for longer shelf life, most commonly as NR-Cl, which retains NR's performance. Research indicates nicotinamide riboside converts to NAD+ and raises NAD+ levels, a coenzyme important for DNA repair and cellular energy metabolism; it may also offer antioxidant and anti-aging benefits, support liver and brain health, boost immunity and lower blood glucose. NR-Cl is already widely used in dietary supplements aimed at overall health and delaying aging.
