Dr. Angel Kimble, PharmD, BCPS, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Administration, and Research at the Marshall University School of Pharmacy in Huntington, West Virginia. She brings nearly two decades of experience in pharmacy practice, clinical education, and curriculum development, with a strong commitment to advancing student learning and patient-centered care.
Dr. Kimble earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Huntington Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she gained comprehensive training across diverse clinical areas including ambulatory care, internal medicine, geriatrics, critical care, and infectious disease. Her early career included roles as a clinical and inpatient pharmacist, where she developed expertise in anticoagulation, dyslipidemia management, and interdisciplinary patient care.
Since transitioning into academia, Dr. Kimble has demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching across the PharmD curriculum. She has designed, coordinated, and delivered courses spanning self-care therapeutics, endocrine pharmacotherapy, drug information, and capstone preparation. She is particularly recognized for her work in developing active-learning strategies, case-based instruction, and capstone experiences that promote clinical reasoning and readiness for advanced pharmacy practice experiences and licensure examinations.
Dr. Kimble’s scholarly work focuses on pharmacy education, active learning, and student retention of clinical knowledge. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and national presentations examining innovative teaching methodologies and their impact on student outcomes. In addition, she actively mentors student research and professional development, supporting presentations at regional and national meetings.
A dedicated advocate for professional service and community engagement, Dr. Kimble has served on numerous academic committees, including assessment and student affairs initiatives, and has contributed to faculty governance and curriculum improvement efforts. She maintains active membership in national and state pharmacy organizations, including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association.
Dr. Kimble is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and licensed pharmacist in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. She continues to engage in community outreach through health screenings, immunization efforts, and public health education initiatives aimed at improving medication safety and patient outcomes.
