Bachelor in Biotechnology from the University of Granada (2014–2018) and Master’s in Translational Research and Personalized Medicine from the same university (2018–2019). During his Master’s studies, he joined the Crystallographic Studies Laboratory (LEC) (IACT-CSIC), where he began working on pharmaceutical multicomponent materials (PMMs) to enhance the physicochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
In 2020, he started his PhD in the Biomedicine Doctoral Programme (UGR), funded by an FPI contract and based at IACT-CSIC. His thesis focused on the design of organic and inorganic multicomponent materials with applications in pharmaceutics, bioimaging and bone tissue engineering. He defended it in July 2024, earning Cum Laude with International Mention. In 2024, Dr Acebedo was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF-2024) for the project “Advanced Agrochemical Delivery via Hybrid Nanoparticle-Cocrystal Systems (AgroNanCo)” to be carried out at the ISMN-CNR, in Bologna (Italy) under the supervision of Dr Michele Iafisco. Until its start in April 2026, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at LEC-IACT on PMMs and apatite-derived materials.
