Research Assistant & Programmer

Jitendra has been a volunteer at the Leukippos Institute since October 2011 (http://www.leukippos.org/Leukippos_Institute/Team.html). he is currently working as a Programmer and Research Assistant at Shodhaka Life Sciences Private Limited, incubated in Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (http://shodhaka.com/cgi-bin/startbioinfo/programmers.pl). He is also a core committee member of ISCB regional student group – India. He has done Masters of Science in Bioinformatics from Mangalore University. A short period of time he worked in Manipal Institute of technology as a research scholar. For his strong interest in molecular modelling and simulation studies he joined Open source drug discovery project (an initiative by CSIR) in Indian Institute of Science. There his work was focused on adding extensions to open source chemoinformatics softwares. Jitendra has participated in many national conferences and few international conferences as well. His area of interest includes proteomics, homology modeling, Computational Biology, In-silico drug designing. His programming skills include Perl, Python and R. He is very keen scientific person. Jitendra believes in and supports open science Philosophy.
