Dr. Joseph Bukalasa is a Pesticide Management Specialist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Tanzania since August 2023. Before joining an FAO - Tanzania, He worked with the Tropical Pesticides Research Institute for more than twelve years (12) in various positions including Registrar of Pesticides in Tanzania, Acting Director of Technical Services and Senior Research Officer – Toxicology. Joseph holds a Doctorate (PhD) in Toxicology and Environmental Health from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He published several articles on environmental exposure to pesticides and respiratory health effects associated with environmental and occupational exposure to pesticides.
