Tóm tắt chuyên môn

I completed my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester in the laboratories of Dr. Diane Dalecki and Dr. Denise Hocking. I am currently a postdoctoral associate in the Wilson Engineering and Clinical Laboratory for Innovation in Pediatric Surgery (ECLIPSe) in the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. I work at the interface between biomedical engineering and pediatric surgery and my research focuses on innovating ultrasound imaging technologies for non-invasive, non-destructive tissue characterization. The overall goal of my research is to develop quantitative ultrasound parameters that quantify features of underlying tissue structure and mechanical properties that are independent of image acquisition systems in pediatric and orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation. Long-term, I aim to develop ultrasound imaging tissue characterization technologies to improve tailored surgical and rehabilitative approaches to address muscle, tendon, and nerve alterations in (1) children with congenital hindgut malformations and (2) patients with diabetes, tendinopathy, and neuropathy across their lifespan. My vision is to teach at an academic medical center and perform biomedical research at the interface between quantitative ultrasound tissue characterization, biomedical engineering, pediatric surgery, and orthopaedics.
