Microreactors, or flow reactors more broadly, enable precise control over chemical processes; this, combined with the shift from batch to continuous processing tied to flow reactor use, allows process intensification and improved efficiency. Flow reactors often help overcome mass- or heat-transport limitations in chemical reactions, and open up new process windows through better control of extreme reaction and process conditions. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in identifying process weaknesses and limitations and in selecting and designing suitable reactors and equipment, the team conducts customized, experimental process development in a lab setting focused on continuous processes.
