Indian central university at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh, founded in 1946 by the jurist Harisingh Gour with his own fortune and made a central university in 2009, the oldest university in the state. Runs departments of pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, botany, zoology and microbiology, teaches degree and doctoral programmes in pharmacy and the sciences, and carries out research on drug design, formulation and the medicinal plants of Bundelkhand.
