American company of the Swiss group Roche, long based at Nutley in New Jersey and now at Little Falls, which held the group's United States pharmaceutical operations. Registers and sells Roche medicines in the United States, holds the group's American patents and works with Genentech at South San Francisco, the group's United States research and pharmaceutical business, and with Roche Diagnostics at Indianapolis.
