Tongji University

Chinese public research university on Siping Road in Shanghai, founded in 1907 as a German medical school for Chinese students and now a comprehensive university under the Ministry of Education. Its School of Medicine teaches clinical medicine and runs departments of pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and clinical pharmacy together with affiliated teaching hospitals in Shanghai including Tongji, Shanghai Tenth People's and East hospitals, and the university carries out research in drug discovery, stem cells and regenerative medicine, biomaterials and translational medicine.
