Seoul, Dec — Ahead of the full institutionalisation of telemedicine scheduled for December, South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that the expansion of pharmaceutical delivery services should proceed gradually. The ministry also highlighted the need for incentives, such as increased fees, to support remote medication counseling.
The proposal comes as the Korean Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) and several civil‑society and consumer organisations have voiced strong opposition to a wholesale expansion of drug delivery. The ministry's stance represents its first official response, and a formal position is expected from a forthcoming multi‑agency public‑private council that includes business‑friendly ministries.
