The Passive Opener incorporates the same interlock mechanism found in a typical Active unit, letting it open a mated Active device. Rather than a standard Active/Passive seat, it uses a lightweight cruciform disc design with few spare parts, and its hygienic tri-clamp connection lets additional devices be attached for tasks such as sampling, inspection, or washing.
