I am Caleb Charles James Wyckoff, PhD, a biomedical scientist and medical educator currently affiliated with Old Dominion University and Eastern Virginia Medical School (ODU/EVMS). I earned my PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Old Dominion University in 2025 and previously received a Master of Science in Biology. My research training and professional experience focus on mitochondrial biology, cancer metabolism, epigenetics, and intercellular mitochondrial transfer, with particular emphasis on IDH2-mutant chondrosarcoma and tumor–immune cell interactions. I also have prior research experience in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology, including tissue decellularization, extracellular matrix–based scaffolds, and 3D bioprinting approaches for tissue engineering. My laboratory expertise includes mitochondrial isolation, Seahorse metabolic flux analysis, flow cytometry, epigenetic profiling, and advanced imaging techniques. In parallel with my research career, I have served as a lecturer and adjunct faculty member teaching anatomy and physiology to nursing and allied health students. My current and previous research interests include mitochondria-mediated epigenetic regulation, tumor–immune metabolic crosstalk, regenerative medicine, stem cell–based therapies, and translational applications of mitochondrial dysfunction in disease, along with active involvement in academic service and biomedical student leadership.
