专业摘要
Dr. Markwo Ali is a chemist specialising in natural product chemistry, microbial metabolomics, and anti-infective drug discovery. His research focuses on the isolation, profiling, and characterisation of bioactive secondary metabolites from endophytic fungi, particularly those associated with Moringa oleifera.
He has extensive experience in bioassay-guided metabolite screening, chromatographic separation, and spectroscopic characterisation using GC–MS, MS, and NMR techniques. His work integrates experimental chemistry with computational and analytical approaches to identify novel compounds with therapeutic potential.
Dr. Ali has contributed to research on antimicrobial metabolites, microplastics contamination, and chemical migration in food-contact materials. He has also been actively involved in undergraduate teaching, laboratory instruction, and academic mentoring.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Ghana and has undertaken international research training in microbial metabolomics at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS).
