Lecturer of Clinical and Professional Pharmacy Practice (Medway School of Pharmacy)

I’m a GPhC-registered pharmacist, lecturer, and translational researcher dedicated to bridging laboratory science with clinical practice to improve patient outcomes across neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions. I am currently a lecturer in Clinical and Professional Pharmacy Practice at the Medway School of Pharmacy, a collaboration between the University of Kent and University of Greenwich, and co-lead the Sleep & Wellbeing Clinic at the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy (PCIT) in Canterbury. My research centres on the discovery and application of biomarkers with particular focus on prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) and the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) aminopeptidases as indicators of brain function, memory, and disease risk. This has expanded into broader work on neurodevelopmental disorders, including Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. My PhD at the University of Brighton led to the development of a potential diagnostic tool for PAE and continues to inform my translational work today. I have presented my findings at several international conferences, including the IRAP Meeting in Greece and EUFASD conferences in Norway and Spain. I’m also the lead author of a published chapter in Fetal Alcohol Syndrome: Recognition, Differential Diagnosis and Long-Term Effects (Nova Publishers). In addition to biomarker research, I am passionate about innovative teaching practices. My interests include the use of simulation technologies and integrated learning methodologies to enhance pharmacy education and help students build complex clinical skills in a safe, supportive environment. Whether through the lab bench, the clinic, or the lecture theatre, I am committed to making science work for people by turning complex research into clear, actionable insights that support lifelong health and learning.
