I am Rajesh.Mandarapu, Ph.D., graduate in Biochemistry and Toxicology (interdisciplinary) from University of Madras, India. worked under guidance of Dr.P.Balakrishna Murthy, Ph.D., D.Sc., Director(Retired), International Institute of Biotechnology And Toxicology. My professional and research experience has covered multidisciplinary approaches in both in vivo and in vitro toxicity studies including animal testing, cell culture, molecular biology, fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometric analysis. I have couple of posters at international conferences and publications (as a first author) in peer reviewed international journals to my credit. Having worked with a contract research organization, I got expertise in conduct of non clinical safety studies in accordance with OECD, EC, EPA, OPPTS, JMAF, FDA and ICH guidelines for testing various agrochemicals and pharmaceutical products that are submitted to various regulatory authorities. I played a key role in managing the overall compliance of GLP in the test facility, as a scientist and deputy QA manager, and had successfully faced many national and international audits by GLP and regulatory authorities. I am also responsible for bridging the gap between client and study director in conduct and managing the in vivo and in vitro toxicological studies and in addressing the queries from regulatory authorities from time to time. Besides my professional experience, I also involved in developing a multi institutional (within India) collaborative project (worth INR 3600000) that has been funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India during 2013-2014. This clearly reflects my capabilities in identifying and establishing the contacts with experts and also materializing the thoughts in to successful research outcomes. In addition, I also participated in creating and reviewing the edges/nodes related to various biological mechanisms using biological expression language (BEL) at sbv IMPROVER Network Verification Challenge2, and subsequently awarded with a grant covering travel, accommodation and other expenses, to participate as a best performer in Network Verification Challenge2-Jamboree at Barcelona, Spain between 15th and 18th June 2015. My diligence towards using computational tools in toxicity assessment made me to improve my knowledge and build foundation by completing Bioinformatic Methods-I, R Programming and Introductory programming with Python (part-1), from University of Toronto, Johns Hopkins University and Rice University respectively. I secured more than 75% in all of these courses and got financial support to earn verified certificates from Coursera. Further, to enhance my skills in using advanced computational methods and techniques in toxicology, I am looking for a suitable post doctoral training in relevant area and thus to explore the opportunities and the possibilities for learning computational tools, while interacting with the subject peers.
