Fogging is a freeze-drying defect where the liquid formulation creeps along the vial wall, leaving a persistent white mist coating the inner surface after lyophilization, which can compromise container closure integrity and raise drug-product nonconformity rates. This coated vial is built from neutral borosilicate tubular glass with an interior hydrophobic PDMS film that prevents such fogging, making it well suited to fogging-sensitive, appearance-critical lyophilized products like monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, recombinant proteins, and mRNA or viral-vector vaccines.
