Chengdu Baiyu Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd, formally established in 2005 (its predecessor began ginkgolide R&D in 2002) and based in the Chengdu National Cross-Straits Science and Technology Industrial Development Park in Wenjiang District, manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms spanning cardiovascular, macrolide and antipyretic/analgesic categories, with ginkgolide as a signature product line. Its ginkgolide injection was approved in 2011, and its ginkgolide dropping pills progressed through Phase I (2017), Phase II (2019) and Phase III (2023) clinical trials; its freeze-dried powder injection workshop passed EU GMP certification in 2022, and in 2024 the company signed an exclusive global licensing agreement with Novartis for a small-molecule drug in development. The company holds 335 China and overseas patent applications (105 granted) and two new-drug certificates, and its ginkgo-related patent won the 18th China Patent Excellence Award.
