A biorefining company with $165 million in sales, Godavari Biorefineries manufactures sugar, ethanol, renewable energy, chemicals, biogas and compost, all from agricultural sources, with about 95% of inputs coming from renewable resources. A member of the Indian government's New Millennium Technology Initiative, the company's product range includes ethanol, acetic acid, ethyl acetate, 1,3-butanediol, ethyl lactate, calcium lactate, crotonaldehyde and crotonates, sorbaldehyde and sorbates, paraldehyde, cinnamic aldehyde, fructo-oligosaccharides and sugarcane wax.
