Ningbo Linzyme Biosciences Co., Ltd., based in Yuyao, Ningbo, traces its origins to Shanghai Shengning Institute of Applied Biochemistry, established in 1993 to develop and produce urokinase, ulinastatin and related products, before shifting to animal-source enzymes such as chymotrypsin, trypsin and kallidinogenase in 2000. The company relocated to Shanghai's Songjiang Industrial Park in 2005 as Shanghai Linzyme Biosciences Ltd., established its Ningbo production base in 2008, and fully relocated production there in 2017; its Rezyme unit was launched in 2018 to focus on fermentation enzyme R&D.
