Swedish public university in Stockholm, founded in 1878 as a college and made a university in 1960, based mainly at the Frescati campus in the national city park. Teaches and researches through faculties of science and of humanities and social sciences, with departments of organic, analytical and materials chemistry, biochemistry and biophysics, molecular biosciences at the Wenner-Gren Institute, environmental science and the Science for Life Laboratory partnership, working on protein science, structural biology, drug related chemistry and environmental toxicology with its own analytical facilities.
