Novartis announced that it will discontinue small‑scale biopharmaceutical production at its Kleinbasel (Kleinbasel) facility in Switzerland by the end of 2027.
The company said the decision, made in accordance with legal procedures, could result in the loss of approximately 130 jobs.
In parallel, laboratories handling cell banking, analytical testing and technology development at the Kleinbasel site will be transferred to Novartis’ Basel campus by the end of 2028.
