Since 1948, Retorte has processed crude selenium into selenium-based chemicals at its only production site in Röthenbach, Germany, including sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) and sodium selenate (Na2SeO4), excellent sources for the trace element selenium. Aware of the challenges applying these toxic chemicals to pharma, veterinary and food products, the company has invested over the years in obtaining a CEP for the API sodium selenite, a GMP certificate issued by a German authority, veterinary master files with the FDA, and third-party audits, with GB compliance certificates for both products in place for China and FSSC certification targeted by the end of 2022.
